About the Person
Shawn C. Schmonsky is the Vice President of Human Resources for its water heaters businesses in North America, India, and Europe at A. O. Smith Corporation. Schmonsky will be responsible for domestic and international human resources, including strategy development/deployment, talent management, workforce planning, total compensation, employee/labor relations, performance management, and organizational development. In addition, he will be a member of A. O. Smith Corporation`s Human Resources Leadership Team. Schmonsky joined A. O. Smith in 2006 as human resources manager of the company`s Ashland City plant. Since 2012, he has served as director-human resources, responsible for North American manufacturing operations and product engineering. Prior to joining A. O. Smith, Schmonsky worked from 2004 until 2006 as a senior human resources representative at Target in Tifton, Ga. He also has held the positions of human resources manager at Avery Dennison in Niles, Ill., and Fort Wayne, Ind., and human resources specialist for Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Georgetown, Ky. Schmonsky earned a bachelor`s degree in Human Resources Management from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green and a master`s degree in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion.
