About the Company

WNYW, channel 5, is the flagship television station of the News Corporation-owned Fox Broadcasting Company, located in New York City. The station`s transmitter is atop the Empire State Building and its studio facilities are located in Manhattan`s Yorkville neighborhood. WNYW is a sister station to Secaucus, New Jersey-based WWOR-TV (channel 9), the New York area`s MyNetworkTV flagship station. In the few areas of the eastern United States where viewers cannot receive Fox network programs over-the-air, WNYW is available on satellite via DirecTV, which also provides coverage of the station to Latin American countries and on JetBlue`s LiveTV inflight entertainment system. WNYW is also available on cable in the Caribbean. As of March 4, 2009, WNYW is once again available on Dish Network as part of All American Direct`s distant network package.

 

About the Person

Roselyn Barranda is currently a Human Resources professional in the television industry. She originally began her career in media in 1996 and has held numerous positions working in the news, finance, research and public relations areas. She holds an M.S. in Human Resources Management and Labor Relations from the New York Institute of Technology and B.A. in Communications from the College of Mt. St. Vincent. Roselyn is committed to utilizing personal growth and leadership development opportunities in creating leaders, partnerships and building relationships. She completed 212 hours of coach specific training and is an affiliate coach with Accomplishment Coaching, an accredited coach training program recognized by the International Coaching Federation. She has also served as a support coach for Accomplishment Coaching’s Training & Leadership development programs in NYC and Washington DC. Additionally, Roselyn is an Ambassador for the US Junior Chamber of Commerce, a young person’s leadership development and training organization and has held numerous roles within the local chapter for over a decade. She is also the Professional Development and Activities Liaison for COSIA (Cultivating Our Sisterhood International Association) and is often involved in mentorship roles as a career coach in non-profit programs specializing in job development and job readiness skills. Roselyn served as a coach with Full Life Engagement (FLE), a program whose mission is to successfully and lovingly re-integrate returning servicemen and women into living healthy, productive and loving post-combat lives. She also became a mentor with American Corporate Partners (ACP), a mentoring program dedicated to assisting veterans in their transition from the armed forces to the civilian workforce.
