About the Person

Pippa Pomeroy is Senior Director - HR Strategy and Talent Development at Walmart. Previously, Pippa held various senior HR leadership roles in the industry. Pippa originally trained as a school teacher in the UK before enjoying a 19 year career in the Royal Navy as an Operational Logistics Officer.  She served in a variety of ships and shore establishments, leading, teaching and developing throughout.  In addition to leading operational teams at sea, her assignments included the design and delivery of Operational Logistics training for the Navy’s Operational Sea Training Team, Staff Officer to the UK Director of Operations in the Ministry of Defence, Executive Officer to the Deputy Commander in Chief Fleet in the Navy HQ and serving as a content design and faculty member at the UK Defence Academy.   She transitioned from the Royal Navy in late 2009 to work as a vendor, helping to create Walmart’s Leadership Academy.  After 3 years, she transferred to become a Walmart Associate and live full time in the US.  In November 2013, she moved to the HR Strategy Group to develop the Pathways program, with an initial focus on entry level skills development.  She is now responsible for Operational content for the program from Entry Level to RGM.
