About the Person

Michael Bergen, also known as Mike, is the Global Practice Leader for Allegis Partners` Human Resources (HR) Practice.   Mike brings to Allegis Partners experience as an HR leader in a number of premier companies as well as more than 15 years` worth of placing executives and professionals across all industries, geographies and functional areas of expertise within the HR profession. Prior to his current position, Mike was Senior Client Partner in the HR Practice of Korn Ferry as well as a contributing Senior Client Partner in that firm`s Global Sports Practice. Before his role with Korn Ferry, he founded the Bergen Briller Group, an executive search and talent-consulting firm that he led for more than 12 years, establishing the firm as a premiere brand in HR executive search.   With an emphasis on building a consultative relationship with each of his clients, as well as a focus on conducting thorough evaluative assessments to identify and inventory premier talent at all levels in the HR marketplace, Mike has been able to build long-term partnerships with premier HR organizations and leaders.   Prior to founding his company, Mike served as the Vice President, Human Resources, at Cigna, leading corporate talent and succession initiatives. Earlier, he was the Vice President, Human Resources, for Citigroup, leading the corporate office of the Global Consumer Business and dually serving as the Head of Human Resources, Leadership Staffing and Development, for the Marketing function globally. There, he co-led the creation and staffing of a world-class consumer marketing organization. He also developed and managed the comprehensive assessment and succession planning process for more than 2,000 staff and line marketing professionals worldwide.   Mike began his HR career at GE where he was a participant in the renowned Human Resources Management Development Program and held a series of HR functional and generalist roles in manufacturing and service businesses.   Mike received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a former captain and helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army Reserves. The father of two, he resides in New Hope, Pennsylvania.
