About the Person

Mark De Smedt is the Regional Head of Northern Europe, effective January 1, 2016.   Mr De Smedt, 54, will continue in his current role until a successor is appointed. During his term as Adecco Group Chief Human Resources Officer, he has strengthened the Group`s HR function globally and locally, extended the Adecco Academy to all continents and improved the Group`s retention rate.   In 2009 Mark joined Adecco as Country Manager for Belgium & Luxembourg.   He was previously a founder of Professional Staffing specialist XPE Group, acquired by Adecco.   Prior to this, he was responsible for Adecco`s Benelux operations between 2002 and 2007.   Before Mark joined the staffing industry he held various executive positions at Wang, Apple, Citibank and Scoot in France, Spain and Belgium.
