Community engagement. Ethical leadership. Cultural competence. This is our mission, and you are a part of it. Our public affairs mission is one of Missouri State`s strongest attributes — its most defining quality. It`s at the core of everything we do. That`s how we make our Missouri Statement.
Ken McClure, Vice President for Administrative and Information Services, retired on July 1, 2015. McClure began working at Missouri State in 2006 as the associate vice president for administrative services after serving as Governor Matt Blunt`s chief of staff. As associate vice president, he led four major areas within the administrative and information services unit, including environmental management; facilities management; planning, design and construction; and safety and transportation. In 2008, McClure was named interim vice president for administrative and information services and was eventually hired to fill the position permanently. Some of his responsibilities in this position included overall leadership for the unit and adding the specific areas of human resources, computer services and University Staff Ambassadors. During his career, McClure has been active in a number of organizations, including the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, Springfield Symphony, United Way of the Ozarks, Springfield Area Council of Churches and Wilson`s Creek National Battlefield Foundation. McClure was recently elected to the Springfield City Council and looks forward to spending more time with his children and grandchildren, as well as writing several historical book perspectives on Missouri politics.
