About the Person

Jill B. Smart has been the Chief Human Resources Officer for Accenture since 2004. She is responsible for the personnel management, capability development, and staffing of the company's 244,000 people serving clients in more than 120 countries.   Prior to her current role, Jill was Accenture's Chief Learning Officer. Before that, for nearly 20 years Jill utilized her extensive program management and solution delivery skills to lead business integration consulting work for Accenture clients.   Jill strives to advance the HR profession through her active participation in HR leadership groups such as HR50, the Personnel Roundtable, and the RBL Institute. Jill is a Director of the HR Policy Association, and was inducted into the National Academy of Human Resources in 2009.   Jill is on the Board of Trustees of the Goodman Theatre in Chicago and is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, the Executives' Club of Chicago, and the Chicago Network. A dedicated Illini fan, Jill is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Illinois and helps with a course on HR. Jill serves as Secretary on the Executive Committee of the University of Illinois Alumni Association Board of Directors, chairs the College of Business Dean's Business Council, and sits on Illinois Business Consulting's Advisory Board.   Jill is also a guest lecturer at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and is a member of the Chicago State University College of Business Advisory Committee.   Jill has an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BS from the University of Illinois.
