New York, NY-based American International Group hired Jeffrey J Hurd as Executive Vice President of Human Resources.

About the Person

Mr. Hurd is AIG Executive Vice President – Human Resources & Communications. Previously, Mr. Hurd was AIG Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, with oversight responsibility for AIG's global operations and systems and corporate administration. Mr. Hurd was also Senior Vice President - Head of Asset Management restructuring, responsible for the sale of AIG’s external asset management business and the restructuring of AIG's asset management function. He also served as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of AIG Global Real Estate from May until August of 2009. Prior to 2009, Mr. Hurd was Senior Managing Director, Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel of AIG Investments, with responsibility for the management of the legal, compliance, human resources, finance and business strategy functions of the firm. He was also a Deputy General Counsel of AIG. Mr. Hurd joined the AIG Corporate Legal Department in 1998. In 1999, he was named Associate General Counsel of AIG – Mergers & Acquisitions, with responsibility for all legal aspects of AIG's worldwide acquisition, disposition, joint venture and strategic investment activities. In 2003, he was named General Counsel of AIG Investments. Prior to joining AIG, Mr. Hurd was in private practice at Morgan Lewis & Bockius in New York, focusing on private equity, M&A and other corporate transactions. He earned a B.A., magna cum laude, in Political Science from Union College and a J.D., cum laude, from New York University School of Law. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and is licensed to practice law in New York.
