Building capability in strategic shared service locations is becoming a core competency of the AIG group and has some unique talent assessment and development challenges which sets it apart from other employee groups in terms of talent solutions. Our ability to attract, retain and develop talent in these markets where we source scaled services will increasingly become a differentiator that underlies business success. This team will need to work closely with these businesses to develop talent assessment and development solutions tailored to the specific demands of these markets.
We are seeking a Head of Talent Development whose primary responsibility wil be driving the strategic direction and integration of fit for purpose assessment methodologies and development experiences for AIG’s talent in shared service locations. Taking strategic direction from senior leadership, the incumbent will create and deliver an integrated approach to development that responds to AIG’s business needs and provides comprehensive support for talent to increase their effectiveness in current and future roles.
Specific responsibilities will include:
• Provide advice, best practices, framework and methods to the business for developing scaled services talent
• Create and manage a structured approach to building careers and capabilities of AIG’s scaled services staff. This includes the identification of the critical capabilities/experiences required at each distinct career level and the development of detailed roadmaps that provide clarity on how to most effectively build those capabilities.
• Develop process and policy for assessment of individuals moving across key transition points, for example into their first supervisory role
• Implementation of technology enabled career development frameworks across the globe
• Delivering ‘quick wins’ while maintaining laser focus on the long term plan will be critical to drive employee engagement and to ensure a continuous pipeline of scaled talent
• Provide thought leadership, strategic direction and internal consulting on multiple initiatives driven by business needs
• Ownership of end to end talent assessment & development processes and user experience
• Management of a small team of talent management professionals accountable for design, development, deployment and evaluation of scaled services talent management solutions
