The vision of our strategic plan is "to be the top producer of successful students in the nation" OCPS is a powerful, positive force in the Central Florida economy. It is the second largest employer with over 22,000 employees and provides instruction to almost 175,000 students. Support from Orange County business partners, caring parents and community-minded citizens is evident by their participation: 47,800 registered volunteers who contribute more than 694,000 hours annually 3,500 school-business partnership agreements 38,905 PTA/PTSA members School Advisory Councils composed of community members, parents and school staff. Generous contributions afford many opportunities for our students. Volunteers and partners are always welcome.
Javier Melendez is Director, Human Resources and Special Projects at Orange County Public Schools. Previously, Javier held various senior HR leadership roles in the industry.
