Perry County, (population 43,602) originally part of Cumberland County, became the 51st county in Pennsylvania on March 22, 1820 and is named for Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry, the American hero of the naval engagement with the British on Lake Erie in the War of 1812. Part of the Appalachian Mountain Region, Perry County is bordered on the north, west and south by the Tuscarora, Conococheaque and Blue Mountains. On the east Perry County is bordered by 28 miles of the Susquehanna River.
Founded in 1812, St. Charles County is one of the fastest growing counties in Missouri, and the state`s third largest county in both population and economic share. St. Charles County consistently ranks one of the healthiest places to live in Missouri in the County Health Rankings report published by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. It is home to 12 scenic county parks encompassing more than 2,800 acres with additional land under development and more in reserve for future development. With a population of 385,840, St Charles County is home to large employers including Citi, MasterCard Worldwide, Boeing and General Motors. It is ranked among the top 25 counties in the nation in high-tech job growth by the Progressive Policy Institute and consistently has the lowest unemployment rate in the Metropolitan St. Louis area. St. Charles County employs nearly 1,100 in more than 30 departments and offices, who work to make the county an excellent place to live, work and shop.
The New Mexico Gaming Control Board was established by statute in 1997 and funded during the 1998 legislative session. The agency is tasked with the responsibility for regulating legalized gaming at New Mexicos licensed racetracks, veteran and fraternal organizations. In addition, the agency is responsible for investigating and enforcing violations of the laws and regulations that prohibit illegal gambling activities in the state, and monitor New Mexicos tribal gaming compacts through the appointment of a state gaming representative.
Tulare County, with a population of approximately 426,000 is located in the heart of Central California at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountain range known as Sequoia Valley. Los Angeles is 200 miles to the south and the Bay Area is 225 miles to the north. Centrally located within the State of California, Tulare County is situated in a delightful and geographically - diverse region. The County includes an area of 4,863 square miles. Mountain peaks of the Sierra Nevada range rise to more than 14,000 feet in its Eastern half. Meanwhile, the extensively cultivated and very fertile valley floor in the Western half, has allowed Tulare County to become the second-leading producer of agricultural commodities in the United States. In addition to substantial packing / shipping operations, light and medium manufacturing plants are increasing in number and are becoming an important factor in the County`s total economic picture.
DFHV regulates the For-Hire Industry in the District of Columbia. The mission of the Department of For-Hire Vehicles (DFHV) is to protect public interest by regulating the vehicle-for-hire industry to allow the citizens and visitors of the District of Columbia to have safe, affordable, and accessible transportation options. The Department of For-Hire Vehicles provides licensing, adjudication, enforcement, and Lost and Found service for approximately 8,500 drivers, over 90 taxicab companies/associations, and over 600 of limousine operators, as well as DC residents and visitors who use public and private vehicle-for-hire in District of Columbia. The newly reorganized Department of For-Hire Vehicles is now aligned with the mission to regulate the vehicle-for-hire industry to allow the citizens and visitors of the District of Columbia to have safe, affordable and accessible transportation. Agency duties include regulating taxis, limousines, private vehicle operators, digital dispatch services, Payment Service Providers; and managing the relationships with equipment manufacturers and insurance companies. The office is restructured as follows: Office of the Director; Compliance & Enforcement; Regulatory Policy & Planning; Client Services; and Hearings & Conflict Resolution. The For-Hire Vehicle Advisory Council will advise the agency on the industry.
