About the Person
Ann M. Sherman is the Associate Vice President for Human Resources at San Francisco State University. Previously, Ann was the Director of Human Resources at Northern Michigan University for the past seven years. Prior to that, she held increasingly responsible positions in Human Resources and Organizational Development in the medical devices, automotive, and utility industries. Ann is an Industrial/Organizational Psychologist who completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan at Dearborn, and her graduate work at Wayne State University in Detroit. Ann’s passion is “releasing the power of human potential in organizations”. Her parents were both educators (a Mathematician and an Elementary School teacher), and she finds a strong fit with her personal values and the mission of higher education. Her oldest son graduated this spring from the University of Michigan, and her younger son is a freshman at NMU. Enthusiasm, optimism, a sense of humor keep Ann grounded and focused on continuous improvement.
