About the Person

Alina Sadoveanu is a recognized empowerment leader and innovative acquisition professional with nearly a decade of experience to include Supervisory Contracting Officer, Subject Matter Expert and Quality Officer. She joined General Services Administration, Acquisition Support Services in July of 2012 as the Division Director. She provided support to all federal executive agencies, state and local entities, and to foreign governments. While at GSA she implemented measures to reduce mutually burdensome contract administration efforts and succeeded in eliminating historically high employee turnover. From Aug 2011 to July 2012 she served as the Branch Chief and Contracting Officer in the Office of Procurement Support for the Department of Labor. Sadoveanu worked on introducing innovative tools in procurement such as reverse auctioning, life cycle contracting, and performance-based service acquisition and conducted Contracting Officers Representatives training. From 2005 to 2011, Sadoveanu lead acquisition efforts at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Department of Interior. Sadoveanu oversaw award and administration of a multi-billion dollar strategic sourcing contract to complete hundreds of construction projects funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The contracts she awarded played an important role in the White House job-creating initiative and in 2010 Sadoveanu was the Department of Interior nominee for Acquisition Excellence Award for innovation in acquisition. Ms. Sadoveanu participated in environmental clean-up efforts at Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill of 2010 in Mobile, Alabama. Sadoveanu is FAC-C Level III and FAC-COR Level III certified. She received her Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Economics from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. Sadoveanu is currently pursuing her Master in Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University, Carey Business School.
