About the Person
Alberta A. Gibson is the Vice President and Director of Human Resources at First Virginia Community Bank. A nine-year member of the Sonabank leadership team, Ms. Gibson served as the vice president of Human Resources and as assistant to the president and CEO of the bank. Prior to her roles at Sonabank, Ms. Gibson was the assistant vice president of Commercial Services with Provident Bank (formerly Southern Financial Bank). Ms. Gibson holds a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, from State University of New York, with a major in Political Science and a minor in Sociology with a concentration in law and justice. In 2009, she became a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). In addition, Ms. Gibson is a national member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and serves as a Board member and treasurer for the Fauquier/Culpeper SHRM Chapter.
