Cincinnati, OH-based Macys hired William S. Allen as Chief Human Resources Officer.

About the Person

William S. Allen was named Chief Human Resources Officer by Macy`s, Inc. in January, 2013. Bill leads Macy`s, Inc.`s human resources, diversity strategies, and corporate communications and external affairs functions. In addition, Bill has administrative responsibility for the law function that reports directly to the company`s CEO.    Prior to joining Macy`s, Bill served as Group Senior Vice President, Corporate Human Resources for A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S, in Copenhagen, Denmark. Bill originally joined the Group in 2003 as Vice President Human Resources and Corporate Communications for Maersk Line and Logistics in North and Central America.    Bill brings over 20 years of experience leading human resource functions to his current role. Prior to joining A.P. Moller-Maersk, Bill was Senior Vice President, Human Resources & Corporate Communications for Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings in Purchase, NY, the world`s third largest global cargo airline. Bill previously held numerous positions of increasing responsibility in Human Resources and Labor Relations at PepsiCo.   Bill is a member of the Board of Directors of the Human Resource Policy Association (HRPA) in Washington D.C., a leading global public policy advocacy organization representing chief human resource officers from the top 250 employers in the US. He was the founding Chair of the Executive Compensation Policy Roundtable and currently serves as the Chair of the Global HR Initiative at the Association. Bill has also served as a Non Executive Director of SVITZER Marine A/S in Copenhagen, Denmark and a Board Member of the American Chamber of Commerce- Denmark.   Bill has a bachelor`s degree in Business from Auburn University and a master`s in Labor Relations from the University of North Texas. He was recently named one of the top 40 graduates in the history of the Business School at Auburn University.
