We are a familiar face and trusted friend in central and southwest Minnesota but with a new name. The new name – United Community Action Partnership, Inc. (UCAP) – was adopted through the merging of two organizations (Heartland Community Action and Western Community Action) with a rich history of helping people, changing lives, and working to eliminate poverty in the lives of people in Cottonwood, Jackson, Kandiyohi, Lincoln, Lyon, McLeod, Meeker, Redwood, and Renville counties. UCAP is a joint effort to bring together area resources to effectively and efficiently address the growing needs of our local communities in southwest Minnesota. We continue to hold true to our history of being a “grass-roots” private nonprofit organization that is represented and led by the communities we serve.

Mission Health, based in Asheville, North Carolina, is the state’s sixth-largest health system and the region’s only not-for-profit, independent community hospital system governed and managed exclusively in western North Carolina. United Way Suncoast focuses its leadership and resources on three Impact Agenda priorities: Early Literacy (0-12) Ensure that children are surpassing key school readiness and early grade reading benchmarks. Youth Success (13-18) Ensure that children are graduating form high school with the skills necessary to pursue post-secondary education or vocational training. Financial Stability (18+) Ensure adults achieve long-term financial stability by developing the skills and opportunities to obtain family sustaining employment.
