About the Person

Wanda I. Overland is the Interim Director of Human Resources at St. Cloud State University.   Priort to that, she served as vice president of student life and development at St. Cloud State University since July 10, 2006.   As vice president of student life and development at St. Cloud State University, Overland was the senior student affairs officer providing management, leadership, vision and direction for student support services.   From 2004-06, she has been associate vice president of student affairs and dean of students at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) providing overall administration of student affairs programs.   Overland`s higher education experience has been at North Dakota State University and BGSU.  At BGSU she served as assistant vice president of student affairs and dean of students.  She was also responsible for the development and implementation of collaborative initiatives between student and academic affairs and the coordination of division assessment activities.  During her tenure there, she also provided leadership and administrative oversight in the construction and opening of a new $35 million renovation to the student union building.   At NDSU Overland served as assistant dean of student life and director of the Memorial Student Union from 1995-99 and as director of student organization development from 1984-91. She was also a residence hall director at NDSU and early in her career taught home economics at Hillsboro and Bottineau high schools in North Dakota.   The new vice president holds bachelor`s and master`s degrees in home economics education from NDSU and a doctorate in higher education administration from BGSU.  She is a native of Harvey, N.D.
