Diversity programs include Gannett’s Talent Development Program, Mentoring Program, Intern Program, Diversity Awards and support of National Diversity Organizations. Prior to this role, Smith served as president and publisher of the Asheville Citizen-Times and The Record, San Joaquin County (Stockton, CA). Chair. Smith has earned his BS degree in Human Resources/Professional Development and MS degree in Human Resources and Organizational Development from University of San Francisco.
