The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) formed in July 2009 as part of the reorganization of the former Georgia Department of Human Resources, which had served Georgia since 1972. DHS delivers a wide range of human services designed to promote self-sufficiency, safety and well-being for all Georgians. The department is one of the largest agencies in state government with an annual budget of $1.8 billion in fiscal year 2017 and nearly 9,000 employees. DHS is comprised of three divisions and 11 offices, including the Division of Aging Services, the Division of Child Support Services and the Division of Family and Children Services. Our vision is to build stronger families for a stronger Georgia.
Our staff provides a wide range of services to citizens, including law enforcement, parks and recreation, social services, libraries, animal care and adoption, and water and waste services. We also provide support to fellow employees through accounting, fleet management, human resources, and information technology. Montgomery County, located in southwestern Virginia, is home for more than 99,000 residents in its nearly 400 square miles. Our community is known for its abundance of outdoor recreation offerings, including cycling and walking the Huckleberry Trail; hiking and exploring Pandapas Pond in the Jefferson National Forest; and floating and fishing on the New River. Two of the state`s five largest towns, Blacksburg and Christiansburg, are located in the county. As the retail hub of the county, Christiansburg hosts several shopping centers, entertainment venues, and restaurants. Blacksburg is home to Virginia Tech, one of the nation`s leading educational institutions and research universities, which is also known for its accomplishments in athletics as well as cultural and event offerings at the Moss Arts Center.

Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA) is a multi-billion dollar retirement system serving 394,940 state and local government employees and retirees. The Commonwealth of Kentucky provides retirement benefits for state and county employees through the KPPA. KPPA consists of the Kentucky Employees Retirement System (KERS), County Employees Retirement System (CERS), and State Police Retirement System (SPRS). State employees, employees of local health departments, eligible employees of regional state universities, and other agencies qualified under state law participate in KERS. Employees of city, county, and local municipalities, along with classified employees of local school boards, participate in CERS. Participants of SPRS consist of all state police officers.
