About the Person
I have worked 28 years in public safety and 20 years as a Public Information Officer in emergency management. A majority of the 28 years, I have served in the Madison County Emergency Management Agency where I received numerous certifications. In addition to emergency management, I also serve in law enforcement. Over the course of 20 years as a PIO, I have seen the public information field evolve from typed press releases, to automated fax dissemination, to today`s` subscription services such as Nixle. The use of social media has changed the world of public information and MCEMA is a leader in building a successful platform of electronic communications. In addition to the MCEMA social media platform, I also maintain the social media presence for the Chesterfield Police Department. I am very proud of my public safety career and the success in media relations as well as emergency management.
