About the Person

Thomas W. Ruderman is the Senior Vice President of Talent and Knowledge at Anti-Defamation League.   As Senior Vice President of Talent and Knowledge – a newly created position reporting directly to the CEO – Mr. Ruderman will be responsible for cultivating new talent, building organizational capabilities and creating education and development opportunities for employees across ADL, both at the organization`s National Headquarters in New York and in 28 offices across the United States and in Israel.   It is the first nonprofit role for Mr. Ruderman, a veteran of large companies such as Citigroup, General Electric and CIGNA. He most recently served as Chief Human Resources Officer for Active International in Pearl River, NY, a $1 billion global leader in corporate trading where, since 2006, he led a team of 13 people and supervised staff acquisition, talent development and change management.   Mr. Ruderman has more than 20 years of human resources experience, including 15 years with the General Electric Company, and has worked in industries ranging from healthcare to financial services to manufacturing. He served as senior vice president of human resources with Citigroup`s credit card business. He drove structural and process changes within the human resources organization to enhance the group`s business impact.   From 2001-2004 he served as vice president of human resources for CIGNA Health Services, where he led the HR team for the fastest growing segment in CIGNA, implementing business-unit restructurings, upgrading senior-level talent, and facilitating cultural change. Prior to joining CIGNA in 2001, Mr. Ruderman held a series of increasingly responsible human resources leadership positions with GE in four different businesses and at corporate headquarters.   A resident of Hartford, Connecticut, Mr. Ruderman is an active community member, serving as a volunteer consultant to Jewish Employment Transition Services and on the executive committee of the Greater Hartford Marathon. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia, School of Law, and a B.S., summa cum laude, in Psychology from Tufts University.
