The KC Tech Council drives growth for our member and sponsor companies. While primarily tech companies, we count the region`s top legal, financial, insurance and marketing corporations among our investors as well. Though our members and sponsors run the gamut in scale and focus, they have one key quality in common: they recognize how important the tech industry is to the economic future of the KC region, and understand they cannot sustain and create that growth on their own.
Today` more than 75 million young adults are out of work globally` and three times as many are underemployed. At the same time` 40 percent of employers say a skills shortage is leaving them with entry-level vacancies. Generation is a youth employment nonprofit with a dual mission to empower young people to build thriving` sustainable careers and to provide employers the highly skilled` motivated talent they need. Today` more than 21`000 young adults have graduated from the Generation program` which prepares young adults for careers in nearly 80 cities and 200 locations across eight countries` with five countries in pre-launch. Generation works with 2`300+ employer partners and a wide range of implementation partners and funders. The organization was founded as an independent nonprofit by McKinsey & Company in 2014. Results have been strong` with over 80% of graduates placed in jobs within 3 months of graduation and approximately 70% still employed one year later. With nearly 11,000 members, the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) is the largest multi-disciplinary, non-partisan organization dedicated to research and education on matters related to insolvency. Founded in 1982 to provide Congress and the public with unbiased analysis of bankruptcy issues, ABI is the premier professional organization in the field. Members span the entire spectrum of professionals and include attorneys, accountants, auctioneers, judges, lenders, academics, turnaround specialists, credit professionals and many others.
The Northern Kentucky Tri-County Economic Development Corporation (Tri-ED) was created in 1987 as a non-profit organization, blending public and private funds to enhance the business climate and to foster a spirit of regional cooperation among the Northern Kentucky counties of Boone, Kenton, and Campbell.
