About the Person
Ms. Wagner has been Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Development of Assurant, Inc. since April 1, 2009. Ms. Wagner has more than 34 years experience in HR and Communications. She began her career with a subsidiary of Dayton Hudson Marshall Fields in retail communications. She then moved to The St. Paul Companies and held positions such as Superintendent of Training and Communications and Assistant to the Vice President of Human Relations. When Fortis acquired Western Life in 1984, she was Personnel Officer, later became Vice President of Human Resources and ultimately Vice President of Corporate Services. She joined Assurant Employee Benefits in Kansas City in May 1995 as Senior Vice President of Human Resources. Ms. Wagner graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Dakota with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She also graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Master of Arts in English Literature.
