The South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority is a non-profit public corporation. We provide customers with high quality water and services at a reasonable cost while promoting the preservation of watershed land and aquifers. On average, we supply 46 million gallons of water a day to a population of some 430,000 persons. We provide water and other services in all or portions of Ansonia, Bethany, Branford, Cheshire, Derby, East Haven, Hamden, Milford, New Haven, North Branford, North Haven, Orange, Seymour, West Haven and Woodbridge. We own land in Beacon Falls, Guilford, Killingworth, Madison, and Prospect. The Regional Water Authority owns more than 27,000-acres of land and provides a wide array of recreational and educational opportunities and water-related services to those in our water district. Freedom for All Americans is the bipartisan campaign to secure full nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ people nationwide. Our work brings together Republicans and Democrats, businesses large and small, people of faith, and allies from all walks of life to make the case for comprehensive non-discrimination protections that ensure everyone is treated fairly and equally. With the ultimate goal of securing federal statutory protections for LGBTQ Americans, Freedom for All Americans works at the federal, state, and local level to advance measures and laws protecting from discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity and expression – without allowing overly broad and harmful religious exemptions that will encourage employers, business owners or others to choose to disregard those protections. Opponents of non-discrimination laws are currently pursuing strategies to chip away at protections for the LGBTQ community and undermine the movement`s gains. We will push against these attempts to codify discrimination. However, it is not enough to merely take a defensive posture – we must take the fight on the offensive, with a multi-year initiative that seizes on our best opportunities to advance local and state-level victories. Throughout all of this work, we must also pursue a broad, ambitious initiative to educate Americans about who LGBTQ people are and why non-discrimination protections are so critical.

Our goal is to ensure that all children, especially those from low-income families have access to early childhood opportunities that support their healthy development and help each child reach their full potential. America`s children should have equitable access to high-quality learning experiences with the federal government helping to support those most in need. The overwhelming research demonstrates that high-quality early care and education is a crucial component of a child`s healthy development. This is particularly true when one considers the role of quality early childhood education programs in offsetting sustained toxic stress and adversity often associated with living in poverty. In addition to the important health, nutrition and family economic supports that are vital to young children from birth through age five, quality early childhood education is proven to help kids from low-income families be successful in school, earn higher wages, live healthier lives, raise stronger families, and contribute to society. Unfortunately, low-income families are the least likely to have access to affordable, high-quality options for their children – particularly infants and toddlers. FFYF works to sustain and expand the support for early learning that exists at the federal level, while identifying and advancing new and innovative ways to increase access to quality early childhood education for children from low-income families. We help align best practices with the best possible policies and work with advocacy groups and policymakers on both sides of the aisle to identify federal solutions that work for children, families and taxpayers, as well as states and communities. Early childhood development is a practical, non-partisan issue—so we collaborate with a diverse and wide range of federal and state advocates, business and thought leaders, and policymakers to help build consensus and craft early childhood policies that provide lasting economic and social returns.
