About the Person
Shante R. Jordan-Akafia is the Director of Human Resources at City of Plano. Shante joined City of Plano from the job as Human Resources Director for the City of Palm Bay (Florida). A Dallas native she has also worked for the City of Rowlett as HR/Risk Management Department Director and Human Resources Manager for the City of Allen. Akafia has a wealth of experience in public administration, employee and labor relations, benefits, compensation, development and training. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Grambling State University, and a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Texas. She is an International Public Management Association-Certified Professional and member of International Public Management Association for Human Resources.
