The Louisiana House of Representatives is the lower body of the Louisiana State Legislature. The House consists of 105 members and meets at the State Capitol in Baton Rouge. Members of the House serve four-year terms with term limits, limiting representatives to three terms (a total of twelve years). Each member represents an average of 43,175 residents as of the 2010 Census. After the 2000 Census, each member represented approximately 42,562 residents.
Shannon S. Templet is the Director of Human Resources at Louisiana House of Representatives. Her duties involve handling personnel issues involving legislators and their assistants, full- and part-time House staff as well as session employees — more than 400 individuals. Prior to that, she served as Civil Service director at Louisiana State Civil Service. Templet had been Civil Service`s accountability division chief prior to becoming director. She has more than 20 years of human resources experience in state government. The Prairieville resident has a finance degree from LSU. She`s on the board of the Louisiana State Employees Retirement System.
