About the Person

Shamika Lackey - Director College Relations, Macy`s Inc. Shamika Lackey graduated from the University at Buffalo with a Business Management major and started her career at Macy`s. Recruited to Macy`s East, she completed the Executive Development Buying and Planning Program to become an Assistant Buyer in Men`s and then Associate Buyer in Boys. Working closely with the product, she found her passion in the details of product development and further pursued her retail career at Macys Merchandising Group. Succeeding in her positions of Associate Product Manager Kids and Associate Merchandiser in Juniors, Shamika was promoted to Product Manager of American Rag Juniors - tops, active and accessories, helping grow the business to be the number one brand in Juniors. Throughout her career having served as a mentor, trainer, and partner to College Recruitment, she decided to further pursue her career in HR. In September 2008, Shamika was promoted to National HR Manager College Relations with Macy`s Corporate Services and currently works as the Director of College Relations responsible for the Merchant/Stores programs.
