Atlanta, GA-based Turner Broadcasting has Appointed Scott Porter as Senior Vice President of Human Resources
Turner owns and operates some of the leading cable television networks and related properties in the world, including CNN, HLN, TNT, TBS, Cartoon Network, Turner Classic Movies, Adult Swim, truTV and Turner Sports, reaching an impressively broad domestic and international audience. In addition to its cable networks, Turner manages digital sports, including bleacherreport.com, NBA.com, NCAA.com, PGA.com. Turner`s broad portfolio of brands and digital businesses and consumer products reaches consumers in more than 200 countries around the world.
Scott Porter is Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Corporate, for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. In his new role, Porter leads human resources strategy and execution in partnership with senior leaders for Turner’s corporate functions, including Corporate Communications, Finance & Accounting, Global Technology & Operations, Legal, Research and Turner Media Group. He is based in Atlanta, GA. Porter returned to Turner following seven years with Taylor English Duma LLP, a full-service law firm where most recently he was a partner in the labor and employment practice group serving clients including Turner Broadcasting and the Atlanta Braves. Previously, Porter served as counsel and senior counsel for eight years in the Turner legal department supporting CNN and other company divisions on a variety of employment law related matters, including contracts for employees, executives and on-air talent and strategic partnership with HR and business leaders on other issues. Porter earned a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and a juris doctorate from Vanderbilt University School of Law. He is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, the Georgia Bar Association and the Atlanta Bar Association, where he is a member of the Employment Law and Sports and Entertainment Law Sections.
