About the Person

Scott MacDonald has been practicing labor relations and employment law in the for profit and nonprofit sectors since 1987, and HR management since 1997. His work includes employee and labor relations, HR compliance audits, employee handbooks, personnel policies and procedures, compliance training (sexual harassment, wage and hour, ADA, HIPAA), EEO and affirmative action, recruitment and selection, FMLA implementation and administration, job descriptions and workforce analysis, employee benefits administration analysis, and HR information systems/technology. He currently is a member of the Connecticut State Bar Association, Labor and Employment Section. Scott has consulted to a wide variety of organizations and industries including Beers Hamerman, College Street Development, Community Mental Health Affiliates, Ensign Bickford Industries, Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, Kimball Corporation, Maryknoll Fathers & Brothers, Munger Corporation, Neopost, Inc., Oak Hill, Sportech plc, and Workers Compensation Trust. Prior to consulting, Scott was the Director of HR and In-House Labor/Employment Counsel for two of the largest school districts in Connecticut, Attorney in the Labor/Employment Litigation departments for Shipman & Goodwin and Pepe & Hazard in Connecticut, and an Attorney for the NLRB in the Appellate Court Branch in Enforcement Litigation as well as the Injunction Litigation Branch. He earned his J.D. degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was an Articles Editor on the North Carolina Law Review and his B.A. with Honors in Political Science and Philosophy from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
