About the Person

Sandy Harris has been working with organizations to create diverse, inclusive & high performing work environments for over 25 years.  Spanning 6 Fortune 500 companies and a premier international organizational development and training consulting firm, her progressively responsible experiences have led her to now serve as the Vice President, Corporate Diversity Strategy & Internal Operations, at Sodexo.  In this capacity, she is responsible for leading the ongoing advancement and implementation of Sodexo’s integrated diversity and inclusion strategy in collaboration with the 3 teams she leads.  Sandy also has primary responsibility for the strategy and for operationalizing programming at corporate headquarters, and works closely with the Vice President, Market Diversity to ensure performance in the market groups and to support client consulting. Most recently Sandy was the Corporate Director of Global Inclusion, Diversity & Engagement for Medtronic, the world’s largest medical technology company, where she and her team developed comprehensive global strategies, systems, processes and programs to further Medtronic’s strategic global business aspirations as well as consulted with senior leadership to further their engagement through tailored strategies, metrics and actions. Prior to this, Sandy headed her own diversity consulting practice, & served as Vice President of the Global Diversity Center of Excellence at Thomson Corporation.  Before this, she worked at General Mills as Manager of Workforce Diversity, a HR Generalist & a Recruiting Manager.  She has also worked for Cargill, Wilson Learning, Wang Laboratories & Xerox Corporation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Virginia. Sandy recently relocated to Rockville, MD to join Sodexo, after 26 years residing in Minneapolis, MN, where she served on the Steering Committee of the Twin Cities African American Leadership Forum, and was an active contributor to their Education Committee. A founding Board of Directors member for Honoring Women Worldwide, she also served as a Steering Committee member of the Twin Cities Diversity Roundtable. Sandy recently served on the St. Thomas Multicultural Forum’s Program Selection Committee, and also served on the YWCA It’s Time to Talk Race Steering Committee.  Sandy was also an active member of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Chapter of the Links, Incorporated, where she actively served on their Services to Youth Committee.  Sandy was also an active 20+ year veteran vocalist with the Grammy Award winning Sounds of Blackness.
