About the Company
VA Black Hills Health Care System provides primary and secondary medical and surgical care, along with residential rehabilitation treatment program (RRTP) services, extended nursing home care and tertiary psychiatric inpatient services for Veterans residing in South Dakota, portions of Nebraska, North Dakota, Wyoming and Montana. Care is delivered through the Fort Meade and Hot Springs VA Medical Centers, as well as through a number of community based outpatient and rural outreach clinics. VA Black Hills Health Care System supports services at the Black Hills National Cemetery; the Veterans Outreach Centers in Rapid City and Martin, SD; and serves as primary health care provider for the State Veterans Home in Hot Springs. The VA Black Hills has sharing agreements with Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota Army National Guard, and many other community partners.
About the Person
Sandra L. Horsman is the Director of Human Resources at VA Black Hills Health System. Ms. Sandra Horsman has previously served as the Acting Director, Iowa City and Sioux Falls VA Health Care System and as the Acting Deputy Network Director (DND) for VISN 23. Before joining VISN 23 in 2010, Ms. Horsman served as Director, 61st Force Support Squadron, Los Angeles Air Force Base, CA and has held several positions of increasing responsibility within VA and the Department of Defense (DOD) including Chief Human Resources Officer for the Pacific Air Forces Major Command at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, 2001-2004 and Deputy Commander for Services and Force Support Squadron at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, 2004-2008. Ms. Horsman received her undergraduate degree in Workforce Development and Education from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and earned a Master of Science in Business Management from Colorado Technical University. She is a 2009 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Senior Service College (Air War College).
