About the Person

\r\n Samuel K. Franklin, also known as Sam, serves as Executive Director of Human Resources at Pittsburgh Public Schools. He will resign as Executive Director of Human Resources effective August 3, 2015.   Prior to that, he has served as Founder of Pittsburgh Science & Technology Academy at Pittsburgh Public Schools from July 2007 – November 2009.   Previously, Samuel has also served at Oakland Unified School District.   Samuel earned Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government from Kenyon College in 2002 and Master of Science in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University - H. John Heinz III College in 2007.   Franklin is one of four Pittsburgh-area residents Carnegie Mellon University`s Alumni Association honored for their achievements and service to the university as part of Céilidh Weekend, Oct. 4–7. He received a Recent Alumni Award.\r\n
