Thompson Creek Metals Company Inc. is a North American mining company engaged in the full mining cycle, which includes acquisition, exploration, development, and operation of mineral properties. In the past several years, we have evolved from being a major primary molybdenum producer to becoming a copper and gold mining company with the construction and development of the Mount Milligan open-pit copper-gold mine and concentrator in British Columbia, Canada. In addition to Mount Milligan Mine, we own and operate a metallurgical facility in Pennsylvania, USA, at which it roasts molybdenum concentrate and other metals. Our open-pit Thompson Creek molybdenum mine and concentrator in Idaho was placed on care and maintenance in December 2014 after the mining and processing of ore from Phase 7 was completed. We are conducting limited stripping at the mine for the next phase of mining to maintain its options, while we continue to evaluate alternatives for the mine. Operations at our open-pit Endako molybdenum mine and concentrator located in British Columbia, Canada, were temporarily suspended in December 2014 due to recent and expected ongoing weakness in the molybdenum price. We expect to re-evaluate the status of Endako Mine as market conditions warrant. We have a strong commitment to corporate responsibility, as reflected in our excellent safety and environmental records. We are committed to being a valued partner wherever we operate and contributing to the well-being and prosperity of the communities in which we live and work. Our stock trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol "TC" and the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol "TCM." Our corporate office is located in Littleton, Colorado.
Kombat is a publicly traded Canadian exploration and development company with its core operations focused on copper resources in Namibia, one of the world's most prospective copper regions, where it has substantial assets in place with significant exploration upside. The Company holds an 80% interest in five mining licenses in the Otavi Mountainlands, an area of Namibia particularly known for its high-grade copper deposits. Within these licenses are three past-producing mines including the Company's flagship property: the past-producing Kombat Mine. The Kombat Mine's extensive infrastructure includes an 800m exploration shaft which was opened in 2006, three recently-operational shafts, ramp systems, extensive underground workings, mine buildings, a tailings facility, a mill and concentrator (replacement value est +$100MM) all supported by the Company's local town-site. The Kombat mine originally opened in 1962 and historically produced ~8.7 million tonnes of ore grading 3.1% Cu (from the technical report issued March 30, 2012 and titled 2012 ""Technical (NI 43-101) Report on the Kombat Project"", prepared by Henry J. Awmack, P.Eng. for Equity Exploration Consultants Ltd.) and is linked to vital existing infrastructure, including power, water, roads, and rail with close proximity to the port of Walvis Bay and to one of only five commercial-grade smelters in Africa located in Tsumeb. In addition to mining licenses, the Company holds an 80% interest in five Exclusive Prospecting Licenses (""EPL's""). The EPL's are located also within the copper-rich Otavi Mountainlands and are in close proximity to Tsumeb.
