About the Person

Ruth Smith is the Chief Human Resources Officer at Banner Lassen Medical Center, effective May 11, 2015.   Smith comes to Susanville with more than 20 years of experience managing all aspects of human resources, payroll and safety. Areas of expertise include benefits implementation and administration, compensation, employee engagement, leadership development and team building and performance management among many others.    Previously, she has worked as the director of human resources for both domestic and international organizations in profit and nonprofit environments. She has dedicated a substantial amount of her human resources career working in hospitals in Arizona and has a great understanding of the health care environment.   In her spare time, Smith loves to spend time with her family, volunteer within the community and explore the outdoors.
