About the Person

Roy Christopher Harvey was appointed President of Alcoa`s Global Primary Products (GPP) business in October 2015.  GPP operates a network of aluminum smelters and alumina refineries worldwide, and has bauxite assets in Australia, Brazil, Suriname, Guinea and Saudi Arabia.  Roy is also a member of the Alcoa Executive Council, the team which sets strategic direction for the company and is an Executive Vice President of Alcoa.   Most recently, Roy served as Executive Vice President, Human Resources, Environment, Health & Safety and Sustainability, a position he assumed in 2014.  As part of this role, he oversaw the Alcoa Foundation, one of the largest corporate foundations in the U.S.    Roy has held a variety of operating and financial assignments during his Alcoa career primarily in the GPP organization.  He was Chief Operating Officer for GPP, where he focused on the day-to-day operations of Alcoa`s aluminum smelters, alumina refineries and bauxite mines worldwide.  Prior to this role, he served as Chief Financial Officer, GPP, driving financial results across the aluminum and alumina segments.  Earlier, he served as Director of Investor Relations, interfacing with securities analysts and investors globally on Alcoa`s performance and strategic direction, and prior to this role was Director of Corporate Treasury.   Roy joined Alcoa in 2002 as a business analyst for GPP in Knoxville, Tennessee.  While there, he worked with the global casthouse system to develop performance measurement systems and drive casthouse profitability.  In 2005, he moved to Brazil as casthouse manager in the São Luis smelter and then as the plant controller. In 2007, he became plant manager for the San Ciprián, Spain, smelter and a year later named Director of Finance and Business Integration for GPP Europe.   Before coming to Alcoa, Roy was Corporate Manager of Environmental Affairs at Greenstone Resources Ltd., a gold mining company based in Central America.    Roy graduated with honors from The Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, simultaneously earning master`s degrees in International Business and Corporate Finance as a fellow of the Lauder Institute International MBA program, and holds a bachelor`s degree in Mining Engineering from Columbia University. In 2008, Roy was named to the prestigious Young Leaders Program of the World Economic Forum.
