About the Person

Roger Young is the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and chief diversity officer for National Grid. He is a senior executive HR leader with Fortune 500 multinational in-depth experience in Asia-Pacific, North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa in corporate audit, finance, corporate development, sales and marketing, manufacturing, and general management. He oversees full HR services and a staff of 220, managing compensation and benefits, employee services, HR business partnerships, learning and development, recruitment, leadership and talent, change management, organizational planning and development, employee and labor relations, and inclusion and diversity. In 2015, his priority focus was on leading organizational transformation efforts in driving the strategic people plans for the “utilities of the future;” the implementation of process and operational excellence throughout the organization during a critical period of change in the regulated industry; customer innovation and growth; and operational cost productivity and value-added service.   Prior to National Grid, Young served in a dual leadership role as HR business partner head for PPG’s largest business unit — architectural coatings — and held numerous strategic international positions within PPG. He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from The University of Western Ontario, and an MBA from L’Universite Catholique de Louvain.
