About the Person

As a senior-level human resources executive, Rob has developed a strong reputation for his ability to lead high-performing HR functions that have been recognized regionally for their contributions to business success.   At CHOP, Rob is responsible for oversight and direction of all human resources activities for the enterprise, including the hospital, research institute and several physican practice plans. CHOP`s HR team was recognized with "HR Excellence" awards in 2009 and 2010 from the "HR Department of the Year" award program. Rob was also recognized with a "Lifetime Achievement" award from this group in 2014.   Previously, Rob was Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for Radian Group, Inc, a Fortune 1000 mortgage insurance firm headquartered in Philadelphia. A notable highlight was a regional “HR Department Award” received by the Radian HR team in 2007 for their accomplishments in support of a proposed merger.   Prior to Radian, Rob was the Vice President of Human Resources for Independence Blue Cross. During his tenure, the HR function was recognized by the Philadelphia Area Council of Excellence for superior human resources performance, and also received a regional “HR Department Award” in 2001. Previous experience includes senior-level HR positions with Fidelity Bank (Wachovia) and the Philadelphia Inquirer & Daily News.    Rob holds a masters degree in Human Resource management from Widener University and a bachelor’s degree from Gettysburg College. In addition to his corporate experience, Rob currently holds an adjunct faculty position at the University of Pennsylvania, teaching coaching and human resources management courses. He has served on the boards of non-profit and professional organizations, including Metropolitan Career Center and the Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board (PWIB).
