About the Company

Impedimed Ltd. is the world leader in the development and distribution of medical devices employing Bioimpedance Spectroscopy (BIS) technologies for use in the non-invasive clinical assessment and monitoring of fluid status. Impedimed`s primary product range consists of a number of medical devices that aid surgeons, oncologists, therapists and radiation oncologists in the clinical assessment of patients for the potential onset of secondary lymphoedema. Pre-operative clinical assessment in breast cancer survivors, before the onset of symptoms, may prevent the condition from becoming a lifelong management issue and thus improve the quality of life of the cancer survivor. Impedimed had the first medical device with an FDA clearance in the United States to aid health care professionals in the clinical assessment of secondary lymphoedema of the arm in female breast cancer patients.

 

About the Person

Richard Carreon joined ImpediMed in July 2012 as President and Chief Executive Officer. Richard has more than 30 years of experience in management, sales and marketing, spanning the consumer products and medical technology industries. Richard has more than a decade of executive experience working for Medtronic, a leading global manufacturer of cutting-edge medical devices, and therapies.   Richard is a distinguished public speaker who has spoken to audiences in the United States, Europe, Asia, Canada, and Latin America. He was a keynote speaker for The African American National Sales Network for Medical Device Sales and The National Society of Hispanic MBAs, where he was selected as a finalist for the “Brillante Award for Executive Corporate Excellence.” Richard served on the Chairman’s Council on Diversity and Inclusion, and the Multiple Sclerosis Society Board of Trustees. Richard served honorably as an officer in the United States Marine Corps where he developed the strong leadership skills that have contributed to his subsequent career successes. He was awarded the “Navy Achievement Medal” by the Secretary of the Navy for professional achievement. Richard received a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Southern California.
