SouthLake Christian Academy, located at Lake Norman in Huntersville, NC, was founded in 1994 by SouthLake Presbyterian Church. The student population of 2,100 is served by five locations: Four grade schools- Woodgate, Armstrong, Yates and Sieden Prairie and one middle school, Colin Powell. The district`s Administration Center is located on Vollmer Road on the site of the original two-room Sieden Prairie schoolhouse, originally built in 1869. The District 159 technology program gives all staff and students the capability to access the network from any computer with Internet access. This basically gives everyone a 24/7 learning / working environment which is truly unique. Each school has a computer lab, as well as mobile labs of laptop computers operating in a wireless secure environment.
