About the Company
ALung Technologies has developed the Hemolung Respiratory Assist System (RAS), a dialysis-like alternative or supplement to mechanical ventilation. The Hemolung RAS provides Respiratory Dialysis,a simple, less invasive form of extracorporeal CO2 removal. By removing carbon dioxide and delivering oxygen directly to the blood, the Hemolung RAS allows the patients lungs to rest and heal. Applications of the device include preventing intubation in acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and enabling ultra-protective ventilation in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

Mr. Peter M. DeComo, also known as Pete, serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of ALung Technologies, Inc. Mr. DeComo is a Partner at Corridor Venture Partners. He co-founded Corridor Venture and has been at this position since 2000. Mr. DeComo served as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman at Renal Solutions, Inc., from July 2000 to December 2008. He founded Renal Solutions in 2000. He served as Chief Operating Officer of HemoTherapies Inc. Mr. DeComo was a Senior Vice President of the Infusion Therapy and Biotech Operating Division for Olsten Health Services. He serves as the Director of Pittsburgh Life Sciences Greenhouse. Mr. DeComo served as a Director of Curative Health Services Inc. from January 26, 2004 to November 21, 2005. Mr. DeComo received an M.S. and a B.S. in Healthcare and Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
