About the Person

Patti Muldoon leads employee engagement for UTC worldwide. She directs culture shaping actions founded on data-based insights, and is responsible for the annual Employee Survey of 200,000 employees.    Patti has enjoyed three distinct careers at UTC, in Engineering, Service & Sales, and Human Resources. She began designing advanced concept jet engines at Pratt & Whitney as a freshly minted mechanical engineer. One of those concepts enters service this year as United Technologies’ PurePower® Geared Turbofan™ engine, delivering unprecedented reductions in fuel burn, emissions and noise to commercial airliners.   She rolled up her sleeves in the engine overhaul shop at United Airlines as a field representative, then suited up as Sales & Service  General Manager of the Western US and subsequently as the Asia Pacific Sales Business Manager. Patti jumped at the chance to create an Employee Engagement Center of Excellence, and has been driving innovative and meaningful Employee Engagement initiatives ever since.   Patti is past Chair of MayflowerGroup, an industry consortium of high performing companies who share data and best practices related to Employee Opinion Surveys and broad HR.  She is a contributing author in the book “Getting Action from Organizational Surveys”, edited by Alan Kraut.   Patti holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University.  Patti and her husband Joe have three teenagers, a middle aged turtle and an elderly cat in their very lived-in Connecticut home.  She enjoys yoga, reading, and downhill skiing when she gets the chance.
