About the Company

Through the generosity of donors, the foundation improves the lives of Greater Clevelanders by building community endowment, addressing needs through grantmaking, and providing leadership on vital issues. The foundation tackles the community’s priority areas – economic transformation, public-school improvement, youth development, neighborhood revitalization, and arts advancement – and responds to the community’s needs.
About the Person
Monica Brown has worked for the foundation since 2006 and is responsible for the development and implementation of all facets of the foundation`s human resources strategy. Prior to her role at the foundation, Monica was the director of human resources for the Western Reserve Historical Society. Monica earned a bachelor of science from Kent State University and a master`s degree in labor relations and human resources management from Cleveland State University. She is a certified senior professional in human resources and was awarded the distinction of Business Leader in the 2012 HR Awards sponsored by ERC/CSHRM. In 2013, Monica co-founded the Collaboration for Nonprofit HR Professionals, a networking and education initiative focused on building the capacity of the human resources function across Northeast Ohio nonprofits. She also serves as chair of the HR Committee of the board of directors for Beck Center for the Arts.
