About the Person
I have enjoyed several careers in my time, but all of them involved leading, teaching, and coaching. A career naval officer, I led others in war and peace. I have been formally teaching Leadership for thirty years now, having played a key role in development and delivery of the US Navy’s Leadership Management Education and Training (LMET) program from its launch. As a Vice Provost and Academic Dean, I led a college to profitability in the face of incredibly stiff competition from for-profit universities. As a tenured Professor, I taught effectively and passionately at the undergraduate and graduate levels. As a civil servant, I am the Chief Learning Officer (CLO) overseeing executive leadership development, mentoring, and coaching for a large government agency. Among my academic degrees are a Doctorate in Philosophy and a Masters in Counseling. I am also a Certified Professional Coach (CPC).
