\r\n Michelle Stegman is the Human Resources Director at City of Ottawa, Kansas, effective April 6, 2015.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n Prior to that, Stegman served as Human Resources Director at City of Garden City from August 2006 – April 2015.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n Stegman has worked as the human resources director for Garden City since August 2006. Under her direction, the Human Resources Department has been responsible for administrative and professional activities in workforce planning and employment, benefits administration, human resource development, compensation and performance management programs, occupational health and safety, risk management, self-insurance, and technical assistance for city staff. Stegman also served as the staff liaison to the city`s Cultural Relations Board and was a founding member of the Society for Human Resource Management Southwest Kansas chapter.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n Stegman was responsible for improving several of the city`s internal systems and devoted herself to helping the human resources profession in Garden City and western Kansas. Stegman also revitalized the Multicultural Summit in her role staff liaison to the Cultural Relations Board.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n Prior to that, she has served at Wichita Specialty Hospital and Cherry Creek Complex, Via Christi Health System, Optima Bus Corporation and Chance Industries.\r\n
