About the Person

Michelle is an industrial/organizational psychologist and human resources professional with over 25 years of practical, hands-on experience in human resources consulting and corporate HR leadership roles.  She is the founder and principal of Crosby Consulting LLC, a human resources consulting firm focused on the strategic advantage organizations gain from their people and the special role that leadership, talent, and culture play in creating organizational effectiveness.   Michelle has held head of human resources positions with several organizations, most notably Executive Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer at FRHI Hotels & Resorts (Fairmont, Raffles and Swissotel brands) and SVP, Human Resources at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.  Before her corporate roles, Michelle was Senior Vice President and Northeast Region Head for Aon Consulting’s Human Resources Consulting Group (formerly HRStrategies).   She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology from Brown University and both Master of Arts and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Connecticut in industrial/organizational psychology.   She is a frequent speaker at professional conferences and business meetings on HR strategy, leadership development, talent management, selection and assessment, employee engagement, service culture, and HR metrics.  Her recent honors include Finalist for Chief Human Resources Officer of the Year from HRO Today Magazine in 2016 and recognition as one of the “Best of the Best” in Human Resources from HRD Magazine in Canada in 2015.
