About the Person

Michelle Bereaux has been with UBS since 1992, except for a brief period in 1999, and was appointed Global Head of Human Resources for UBS Investment Bank in November 2011.   Michelle started her career as a lawyer at SBC and in 1999 became General Counsel for e-services, a start-up joint venture between UBS Investment Bank and UBS Wealth Management. In 2001, she joined the Investment Banking Department (IBD) in New York as Americas Head of the Equity Corporate Finance Team, where she also performed the dual role of advisor to Senator Phil Gramm. She returned to London in 2004 as EMEA Chief Operating Officer (COO) for IBD, and one year later became Global COO for IBD. In 2009, she moved into UBS Investment Bank’s CEO Office, where she was appointed Chief of Staff and shortly thereafter took on the additional role of Joint COO for the Investment Bank. She was also appointed Group Managing Director in 2010.   Michelle studied Politics and Economics at the University of Buckingham and Law at Cambridge University, where she graduated with honors. She became a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 1992.   In addition to her role, she is the Executive Sponsor for UBS’s Cultural Awareness Network and champion of the UBS London Schools and the Black Child Program.
