About the Person

Melissa Moerike served as the Director of Human Resources at Holiday Inn Sioux Falls City Centre.   Moerike has more than 16 years experience in human resources management and brings a strong background in strategic HR planning, leadership & organizational development, employee relations, conflict resolution and safety. She has served in Director-level HR positions for notable companies in the healthcare, assisted living and the hospitality industries including Mahaska Health Partnership Hospital, and Good Samaritan Society-Sioux Falls Village for almost a decade.   Melissa is involved with Sioux Empire SHRM workshops and conferences and has facilitated HR workshops on topics for leadership and staff development on the Investigation Process, Workplace Violence, Federal/State Laws and Regulations, First Time Supervisor Training, AA, Fair Treatment Resolution (Grievance), Drama Triangle Tool-Conflict Resolution, Interviewing & Hiring Management, Investigations-Harassment & Discrimination and Diversity. She has served as a board member of the Sioux Empire SHRM, Center for Active Generations and volunteered for the United Way, Project Connect, Sioux Falls Homeless Coalition and the Humane Society. She was recognized as by SESHRM as the Human Resource Advocate of the Year in 2011.   Moerike is a graduate of Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall and earned her Master of Science degree in Human Resources Management from Colorado Technical University.
