About the Person

Mary K. (“Katie”) Lawler joined ITW in 2014 and previously served as Executive Vice President, Human Resources for GATX Corporation. Prior to joining GATX, she held a wide range of positions in operations, human resources and law with Tribune Media (formerly Tribune Company).   Ms. Lawler began her professional career as an attorney in private practice handling labor and employment matters. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts and a law degree from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.   She currently serves on the Area Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Chicago. From 2009-2013, Katie served on the Board of Directors for the Human Resources Management Association of Chicago, and was Board Chair from 2012-2013.
