Previously she held titles of Employee Relations Manager, Grievance/Discipline Manager, Managing Employee Relations Representative, all within San Francisco`s Human Resources Department. She started with the city and county in 1999 as a senior personnel analyst following two years working as an analyst with the University of California main office in Oakland. Hao grew up on the southern edge of San Francisco`s Noe Valley as well as South San Francisco, and she now lives in the city. She has a bachelor`s degree in history with specialization in Asian American studies from the University of California at Los Angeles.
