Houston, TX-based C and J Energy Services has Appointed Marty J. Kunz as Vice President of Human Resources
About the Company
C&J Energy Services is a leading provider of well construction, well completions and well services to the oil and gas industry. As one of the largest completion and production services companies in North America, C&J provides a suite of services for the entire life cycle of the well, including cementing; directional drilling; fracturing; coiled tubing; wireline; rig services; fluids management; and numerous complementary services. As part of our ongoing strategic initiatives and vertical integration efforts, we are in the process of developing field-driven technological solutions and innovative products, and we also manufacture, repair and refurbish equipment used in the oilfield services industry. We also offer a suite of well services, including rig services, fluids management and complementary special services, which are essential to enhancing and maintaining production over the life of the well. Our fluids management services boast the largest fluids services fleet in the U.S., and our fleet of workover rigs makes C&J the second largest well servicing provider in the U.S. C&J operates in all major North American onshore basins with facilities across the United States and Western Canada. C&J also has an office in Dubai and is in the process of establishing an operational presence in key countries in the Middle East.
About the Person
Marty J. Kunz joined C & J Energy Services, Inc. as Vice President of Human Resources in July, 2012. Mr. Kunz has over 20 years of Managerial and Human Resources experience, mostly in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining C&J, he was the Vice President of Human Resources for Newpark Resources, and was a Senior Director of Human Resources for The Shaw Group, Inc. in their Environmental and Infrastructure Division. Early in his career, Marty was the Director of Human Resources at Mustang Engineering, Inc. for 11 years, where he managed the Human Resources function from inception through that company’s sale to The Wood Group. Mr. Kunz has extensive knowledge and experience in all areas of human resources, including: executive consulting, compensation, benefits, employee relations, mergers and acquisitions, international HR, career development, performance management and corporate ethics and compliance. Mr. Kunz holds a B.B.A. degree from The University of Houston in Organizational Behavior and Management, as well as an M.A. from The University of Texas at Austin in Human Resource Development Leadership, and he is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). He is an active member and former Board Member of the HR-Houston Professional Association, as well as an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Marty lives in Northwest Houston with his wife Julie, twin daughters Taylor and Jordan, and son Noah.
